DIGI-ELEVATE's Good Practices Database Is Now Published
The Good Practices Database, developed by the consortium for DIGI-ELEVATE, a European project supporting micro-entrepreneurs, is now published and available on the project website, a collection of real cases from Spain, Malta, and Bulgaria that show how small businesses have successfully adopted digital tools to improve their competitiveness.

DIGI-ELEVATE is co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme and brings together four partner organisations: Dideas, MBB, the University of National and World Economy, and Eurodimensions. The project's aim is to strengthen the digital readiness and resilience of micro-entrepreneurs across Europe, helping them build the confidence, skills, and tools needed to adapt and grow in an increasingly digital economy. To achieve this, the partnership is developing a set of practical resources, including this Good Practices Database, a training curriculum, and an online learning platform, designed to turn real business experience into accessible, usable learning for entrepreneurs, trainers, and business support organisations across Europe.
About the Good Practices Database
The Good Practices Database documents concrete examples of how entrepreneurs and small businesses have overcome digital readiness challenges, such as limited digital skills, lack of online presence, or difficulties with e-commerce and customer management. Each case describes the objectives of the intervention, the support and tools used, and the lessons learned, giving other micro-entrepreneurs practical, realistic references rather than general advice.
The database currently includes cases from Spain, Malta, and Bulgaria, spanning sectors such as retail, logistics, manufacturing, food production, and personal services. It will continue to grow throughout the project, and will feed into DIGI-ELEVATE's training materials and future learning resources.
Highlights
In Spain, national digital voucher schemes have helped small businesses adopt e-commerce, customer management, and cybersecurity tools, with many going on to receive specialised advice on more advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
In Malta, a logistics company achieved an 80% annual growth rate in its online shipping business after launching a new digital platform, while a small beauty salon received guided support to establish its first website and online presence.
In Bulgaria, a manufacturing SME worked with a local university on a structured assessment of its digital maturity to prioritise future technology investment, and a food producer combined digital monitoring tools with sustainability objectives.
A recurring finding across the cases is that funding and technology alone are rarely enough: sustained guidance and practical, step-by-step support are what most consistently help micro-entrepreneurs move from awareness to action.

What's Coming Next
With the Good Practices Database now live, the DIGI-ELEVATE partnership is turning its attention to the next stages of the project. Work is currently underway on the project's online learning platform and its accompanying training resources, which will bring the lessons from these good practices into a structured course for micro-entrepreneurs. Once this material is ready, the partnership will move into a pilot testing phase, giving real users the chance to try out the platform and provide feedback before it is rolled out more widely.
